The centrifugal fan consists of a casing, main shaft, impeller, bearing transmission mechanism, and motor. When the fan's rotor is driven to rotate by the motor through the shaft, the gas filled between the blades rotates at high speed under the push of the blades, allowing the gas to gain a large amount of energy. Under the influence of significant inertial force, it is thrown towards the outer edge of the impeller. After the pressure energy and kinetic energy of the gas increase, it flows out of the volute, creating a negative pressure in the center of the impeller. Under atmospheric pressure, gas is continuously drawn in to replenish it.

The accurate maintenance and repair of centrifugal fans areCentrifugal fanan important guarantee for safe and reliable operation, and for extending the lifespan of the fan. Therefore, sufficient attention must be paid when using centrifugal fans.

Today, I found some information online about the daily maintenance of centrifugal fans to share with everyone:

  1. Maintenance of the centrifugal fan impeller:

During the early and all regular inspections of the centrifugal fan impeller, whenever possible, check for cracks, wear, dust accumulation, and other defects on the impeller.

If possible, keep the impeller clean and regularly wipe off dust and rust with a wire brush. As the running time increases, this dust may not adhere evenly to the centrifugal fan impeller, which can disrupt the balance of the impeller and cause rotor vibration.

  2. The centrifugal fan impeller must be rebalanced after repair:

If conditions allow, a portable balancing machine can be used for on-site balancing. Before performing dynamic balancing, ensure that all fixing bolts are tightened. After operating in an unbalanced state for a period, the bolts may loosen.

  3. Maintenance of centrifugal fan bearings:

Regularly check the lubrication oil supply of the centrifugal fan bearings. If there is oil leakage from the casing and the end cover bolts cannot be tightened, it may be necessary to replace the sealing filler.

When the lubrication oil for the centrifugal fan bearings is used normally, it should be replaced at least once every six months. After the first use, the oil should be changed after about 200 hours of operation, and the second oil change should be done in 1 to 2 months. After that, check the lubrication oil weekly. For example, if the lubrication oil has not deteriorated, the oil change interval can be extended to 2 to 4 months, and the specified grade of lubrication oil should be used during replacement.

  4. Attention should be paid to the following when replacing centrifugal fan bearings:

Before loading new bearings, both the bearings and the bearing housing should be cleaned. The bearings should be heated to a temperature of about 70 to 80 degrees Celsius before being installed on the shaft, and they should not be forcibly assembled to avoid damaging the shaft.

Energy conservation and consumption reduction will become the main goals of industrialization.Centrifugal fanAs an important supporting equipment in industry, it will be more widely used in industries such as electricity, cement, petrochemicals, coal, mining, and environmental protection. It plays a certain role in our industrialization process, and centrifugal fans will become increasingly refined, with technology becoming more mature.
