We all know that centrifugal high-temperature fans are used more and more, and over time various problems will arise. However, the spindle, as an important component of the equipment, will experience many different failures after long-term use. Since the operation of the centrifugal high-temperature fan mainly relies on the transmission of the spindle, once a failure occurs during use, it means that the fan cannot operate normally. What are the causes and solutions for spindle failures in high-temperature fans during daily use?
1.High-temperature fanWear on the spindle journal surface
Causes:
(1) Excessive wear caused by poor lubrication.
(2) Misalignment of bearing installation, loose bearing bolts, bent shaft, or excessive rotor imbalance, causing uneven wear on the journal and resulting in ovality and taper.
(3) Lubricating oil mixed with metal shavings, causing the journal to be scraped.
Solution: If the wear is not greater than 1mm², it can be turned or ground, compensated with repair metal. If greater than 1mm², it should be welded first, then cut and repaired.
2.High-temperature fanExcessive bending of the spindle.
Causes:
(1) Due to improper installation, the gap between the shaft and the sealing ring is too small, causing bending due to overheating from friction.
(2) Uneven settlement of the foundation leads to bending of the shaft and sleeve due to overheating from friction, or due to vibration, metal loosening and bending at the impact point of the shaft.
(3) Bending occurs due to localized heating during welding.
Solution: If the shaft curvature exceeds 0.5~1mm, it should be corrected or replaced with a new shaft.
3. Damage or injury to the surface of the high-temperature fan spindle
Causes:
(1) Exposed surfaces are impacted or scratched, with defects such as dents, scratches, and wear marks.
(2) Improper maintenance of exposed surfaces leads to rust.
(3) Long-term vibration of the fan causes cracks or surface cracks in the stepped part of the shaft.
Solution:
(1) File down with a file and polish with oil-soaked sandpaper. If the scars are severe, or the depth is greater than 1~2mm, and the area is greater than 10mm², a new shaft should be replaced.
(2) If the situation is serious, a new shaft should be replaced.
Generally speaking, during the use of high-temperature fans, the spindle often experiences three major failures: wear on the journal surface, excessive bending of the shaft, and surface damage or injury. If a failure is found in the spindle of the high-temperature centrifugal fan during use, do not rush to repair it. Instead, find the corresponding solution based on the above failure causes for repair. However, in addition to timely repairs when problems arise, we also need to regularly check and maintain the equipment during daily use. Preventive measures can also be taken to reduce usage.
