In order to meet the needs of selecting equipment for new waste incineration power plants and the technological transformation of existing waste incineration power plants, an in-depth study of mainstream waste incineration furnaces in the market was conducted. Through comparative analysis of grate movement, grate manufacturing processes, grate thermal stress release, horizontal and vertical arrangement of grates, grate ventilation, combustion chamber, feed hopper support, pushers, and measures for fully mixing waste on the grate, different results were obtained.

Household wasteIncineratoris the key equipment that converts the chemical energy in waste into thermal energy. The process involves feeding household waste as solid fuel into the incineration boiler. At high temperatures, the combustible materials in the waste react violently with the oxygen in the air, releasing heat and converting into high-temperature combustion gases and stable solid slag, thus completing the volume reduction and sterilization process of household waste, achieving harmless treatment.
The high-temperature flue gas generated by the incineration of household waste passes through a waste heat boiler to produce steam for power generation and heating, realizing the conversion of waste chemical energy into thermal and electrical energy. Compared to traditional coal and oil boilers, the frequency of accidents caused by corrosion of the metal heating surfaces in household waste incineration boilers is much higher, accounting for a significant portion of the accident frequency in their steam-water systems. Currently, the operational quality of waste incineration boilers has shifted from low-parameter saturated steam to medium-temperature, medium-pressure superheated steam. The boiler must meet the electrical parameter requirements for power generation while avoiding overheating of the metal heating surfaces in the superheated section, which can lead to high-temperature corrosion. Investigating the causes of corrosion in waste boilers and studying preventive measures is of great significance for the safe operation of waste incineration boilers and the entire power plant.
(1) Waste incineration boilers are thermal devices for incinerating household waste, aimed at reducing the volume, achieving harmlessness, and utilizing waste heat. The basic assessment indicators include daily waste processing capacity,Incineratorthe reduction rate of slag incineration, the operational parameters of the waste heat boiler, and boiler efficiency. Within the rated output range, the boiler evaporation rate fluctuates within a certain range with changes in waste processing capacity and waste calorific value, determining the power generation output. The thermal efficiency of waste incineration boilers is generally below 80%, which is lower than that of ordinary industrial boilers and power station boilers. The electricity consumption rate of waste power plants is generally between 25% and 35%, significantly higher than that of ordinary thermal power plants.
(2) The composition of household waste used as boiler fuel is complex, consisting of different types of solid waste, with relatively low calorific value, typically ranging from 3350 to 6280 kJ/kg in economically developed cities; it has a high moisture content, generally between 50% and 70%; and its composition varies greatly, making combustion difficult to control. Rubber and plastic make up a significant proportion of household waste in developed cities or regions, and during incineration, acidic gases such as HCl and SOx are produced. If not controlled, the metal heating surfaces of the boiler may experience high-temperature and low-temperature corrosion.
